Our nurseries

The seedlings planted on our farms are produced in our nursery under excellent sanitary conditions. We use mist and sprinkler irrigation technology, along with Good Agricultural Practices, to produce high-quality genetic and sanitary materials under standards that guarantee the health of each plant, high production yield, and excellent fruit quality.

Stages

  1. Preparation:approximately 15 days —
The workers prepare the branches, extracting cuttings from the mother branches.
  2. Rooting: The cuttings are placed in beds, controlling temperature and humidity, until roots form – they will remain there for approximately 2 months.
  3. Shoot and root formation: These are placed in trays with substrate and taken to greenhouses for the formation of new shoots and main roots. Approximately 2 months
  4. Plant hardening: At this stage, the plants obtained from the previous stage are potted and placed in the Rusticadero—where they will remain for approximately 12 to 14 months—until they reach a height of over 60 cm, where they will then be taken to the field.

Varieties

In the nursery we have our own mother plants which undergo DNA genetic analysis (MICROSATELLITES GENOTYPING) to verify their varietal.

The varieties we have according to purpose are:

  • Table Olives: Arauco, Aloreña, Manzanilla Fina, Hojiblanca
  • Olives for Oil: Arbequina, Arbosana, Coratina, Barnea, Koroneiky
  • Dual-purpose olives: Changlot, Picual.
